§ 116.01  DEFINITION.
   The term ITINERANT VENDOR when used in this subchapter shall include any person, natural or artificial, who engages in or conducts a temporary or transient business of selling goods, wares, and merchandise within the municipality with the intention of continuing in the business in any one location for a period of not more than four months, and who, for the purpose of carrying on this business, hires, leases, or occupies in whole or in part any room, building, or structure for the exhibition and sale of these goods, wares, and merchandise.  The term does not apply to hawkers or peddlers; to vendors engaged in the sale of food or food products for human consumption; to commercial travelers or selling agents when making sales in the usual course of business; or to salespersons who sell by sample for future delivery.
