(A) The village shall hire an engineer to act as adviser to the village.
(B) This Engineer employed by the village shall not be restricted as to any other employment, except to the extent that it may make it impossible to perform the duties required of the Village Engineer.
(C) The Mayor and Clerk are authorized to hire the Village Engineer at a salary which shall be as set by ordinance.
(D) Either the village or the Village Engineer may, upon 30 days’ notice, terminate the employment relationship above and the Engineer shall be compensated on a pro rata basis up to the point the relationship is terminated. Upon termination the Engineer shall turn over to the village all papers and files that he or she may be working on at the time of termination.
