services are furnished to such property by The Village of Elmore for the benefit of

In consideration The Village of Elmore is providing such services for my tenant(s), I/We agree to indemnify The Village of Elmore for any unpaid bills for electric, water and/or sewer services furnished to such property from this time forth, so long as I/We are owner(s) thereof. In the event I/We transfer such property, I/We promise to notify The Village of Elmore of such transfer.

RENTAL PROPERTY OWNERS’ NOTES
1.    The enclosed Indemnification Agreement must be signed and returned to this office; the utility application and tax form must be completed in full (including PO Box or mailing address) before utility services can be changed to the tenant(s) name.
2.    The property owner will receive a duplicate shut off notice if the tenant is scheduled for shut off.
3.    It is the property owner’s responsibility for notifying their tenant(s) of the $200.00 (cash or cashier check only) utility deposit and the responsibility for payment of these services.
4.    It is the property owner’s responsibility to notify the Village of Elmore Utility Department of any changes in tenant(s).
5.    Prior to releasing security deposits, property owners should contact this office to verify that the tenant has paid their final sewer/water bill(s), in full. Property owners are welcome to contact this office any time during regular business hours to check on accounts that are billed to their tenant(s).
6.    If the tenant moves and does not pay the account in full, it will be the property owner’s responsibility to pay the outstanding balance. If the balance is not paid in full, no new tenant will be permitted to get utilities in their name. An outstanding balance shall become a lien on the property under the laws of Ohio Section 735.29 R.C. The Village of Elmore Utilities Department makes every effort to collect from the tenant.
