For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ELECTRONIC MONITORING DEVICE. Equipment able to continuously confirm the location of the person to whom it is issued.
HOME DETENTION AND ELECTRONIC MONITORING PROGRAM (PROGRAM). An alternative sentencing option which allows an incarcerated person to be released from jail, with the requirement that the person wear an electronic monitoring device and to conform to Court-ordered requirements.
PROVIDER. A person or company which has entered into a contract with the City to provide the following services:
(1) Issuance of electronic monitoring devices;
(2) Continual monitoring of such devices; and
(3) Furnishing of testing for alcohol and/or drug use.
