§ 32.001 ELECTED OFFICERS.
   (A)   The elected officers of the city shall be six Council members and one directly elected Mayor in accordance with § 32.040. The Mayor and Council members shall constitute the Council and shall continue in office until assumption of duties of office by their duly elected successors. Council members shall serve four-year overlapping terms in the manner provided by state statute.
   (B)   By a majority vote of qualified electors, an initiative to enact, enforce or repeal term limits of a member of the Common Council or Mayor is allowed. Any enactment, enforcement or repeal of the term limits applies to any Common Council member or any Mayor elected after the date that the majority of the electors vote to enact, enforce, or repeal the term limit.
