For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PUBLIC PROPERTY. Property owned or controlled by the town.
PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. A strip of land occupied or intended to be occupied by a street or alley, boulevard, road, trail, transportation support facilities such as signs and signals, public utilities or other special public uses.
STREET TREES. Trees planted in the public right-of-way owned or controlled by the town.
TOWN. The Town of Ellettsville.
TREE. A perennial woody plant, typically having a single stem, or trunk growing, to a considerable height and bearing lateral branches at some distance from the ground.
SHRUB. A woody plant that is characteristically smaller than a tree and has multiple stems branching from or near the ground.
URBAN FOREST. The collection of trees and shrubs located within the town limits.
