§ 36.160  REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION.
   (A)   For employment reference checks by other employers of past or current town employees, the town will respond in writing only to those reference inquiries that are submitted in writing.  When the town is contacted by any person with written consent of the employee, the town shall release information regarding their position, hire date and wages. Responses to such inquiries will confirm only dates of employment, wage rates and position(s) held.  No supervisor or employee shall provide reference or employment information other than the information provided as specified in this policy. 
   (B)   Employees and former employees shall be provided copies of past performance records upon request and must acknowledge receipt in writing.
