(A) The town wishes to maintain a work environment that is free of controlled substances, unless the employee possessing them has valid prescriptions for such substances, alcohol, firearms, explosives or other dangerous materials. To this end, the town prohibits the control, possession, transfer, sale or use of these materials on its premises. The town requires the cooperation of all employees in administering this policy.
(B) Desks, lockers and other storage devices are provided for the convenience of the employees, but remain the sole property of the town. Accordingly, these storage devices and any articles found within them can be inspected by any agent or representative of the town at any time, either with or without prior notice.
