(A) Designated holidays. The town recognizes the following paid holidays. Employees other than police and fire personnel shall receive eight hours pay for each of the following holidays:
(1) New Year’s Day;
(2) Martin Luther King Day;
(3) President’s Day;
(4) Good Friday;
(5) Memorial Day;
(6) July 4th Independence Day;
(7) Labor Day;
(8) Veteran’s Day;
(9) Thanksgiving Day;
(10) Day after Thanksgiving;
(11) Christmas Eve;
(12) Christmas Day;
(13) New Year’s Eve.
(B) Election years. On election years all full-time employees will receive a paid holiday for both the primary election day (in May) and the general election day (in November). However, on non-election years all full-time paid employees will receive a paid holiday for Columbus Day.
(C) Holidays falling on weekends. When a paid holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be observed on the preceding Friday. When a paid holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday.
(D) Pay. Full-time employees shall receive regular pay for holidays. Regular part- timeemployees shall receive regular pay for such holidays if they are normally scheduled to work that day, but only for the number of hours the employees would normally be scheduled to work. Those employees who work in a department that requires the employee to work on a scheduled holiday shall be given a floating holiday to be used up in six months.
