(A) For all other purchases in the amount more than $2,500 but less than $50,000 on the open market and for which funds have not been budgeted, the Department Supervisor in conjunction with the Town Manager shall seek at least three firms known to deal in the class of supplies or equipment to be purchased to submit quotes.
(B) If the money for the purchase is available in the Department's budget the quotes and a letter from the Clerk Treasurer confirming the availability of funds in that Department's budget lines shall be sent to the Council and the Town Attorney at least one week prior to the next scheduled Council Meeting and placed on that meeting's agenda for consideration.
