Employees working in high-risk jobs will be offered blood-borne pathogen training and a series of hepatitis B vaccinations for their protection at no cost to the employees. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has determined that certain employees in the workplace face a significant risk from blood-borne pathogens. To ensure that employees are aware of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, the town will develop an exposure control plan to minimize or eliminate employee contact with human blood or other bodily fluids, which may contain blood-borne pathogens, such as hepatitis B virus and HIV. This control plan will be available for use by all employees.
