It is the policy of the town that federally regulated employees and employees in safety-sensitive positions are free of substance abuse and alcohol abuse. Consequently, the use of illegal drugs by employees is prohibited. Further, employees shall not use alcohol or engage in “prohibited conduct” as defined herein. The overall goal of this policy is to ensure a drug- and alcohol-free environment, and to reduce accidents, injuries and fatalities. A copy of this policy and information regarding the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol is available to all employees.
