2-1-2: TERM OF OFFICE; VACANCIES; REMOVAL:
   A.   Regular Members: The terms of appointment for regular members shall be five (5) years and until their successors have been appointed. The terms of the regular members first appointed following the adoption of the ordinance codified herein shall be arranged such that the term of at least one member shall expire each year. Appointments made thereafter shall be made for a full five (5) year term.
   B.   Alternate Members: The term of appointment of alternate members shall be for a period of up to one year and until their successors have been appointed. The term of the alternate member shall expire on February 1 of the year following their appointment.
   C.   Term Of Appointments: The terms of appointments shall become effective immediately upon passage of a motion to appoint by the city council or at such other time as may be specified in said motion, and shall expire on February 1 of the scheduled year of expiration. At the expiration of terms of regular members of the planning commission, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council, may choose to reappoint a member to another term. If the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council, chooses not to reappoint a regular member, the vacancy shall be filled by the alternate member. Vacancies occurring otherwise than through the expiration of terms shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term by the alternate member. At the time the alternate member fills a vacancy, the city council shall appoint a new alternate member.
   D.   Removal: Members may be removed after a public hearing by a majority vote of the city council. (Ord. 05-3, 2-22-2005, eff. 3-22-2005)
