A. Scheduled Training: It shall be the duty of all personnel to attend scheduled sessions. Volunteers not attending or leaving prior to end of scheduled meeting without prior approval of the chief or officer in charge, will not be given credit or pay for the training.
B. Attendance Requirement: Personnel are required to attend all training sessions, duration of one hour or more. There will be approximately twenty four (24) sessions scheduled per year. Personnel are required to attend seventy percent (70%) or eighteen (18) drills to remain an active volunteer of the fire department. There will be makeup sessions scheduled for those volunteers unable to attend at the regularly scheduled training. Personnel attending makeup sessions will be given full credit for training and pay.
C. New Volunteers: All new volunteers of the fire department will be required to complete eight (8) hours of initial training of fire safety, operating procedures, wearing of protective clothing and responding to alarm before participating with the department on a fire scene or emergency. Initial training will be given on regular scheduled training nights or during makeup training. Arrangements can also be made with the chief for other sessions if desired.
D. Apparatus Training: Firefighters who operate the apparatus for training are responsible for the return of the apparatus to the station as well as making the apparatus ready for the next call. (Ord. 96-5-14-2, 5-14-1996)
