Elko County supports and encourages a coordinated, collaborative, multiagency approach to mitigation of the effects of fire management and wildfire use. The Nevada community wildfire risk/hazard assessment project for Elko County, 2005, and subsequent updates identify all communities in Elko County and associated risk assessments. These reports should be used for reference regarding priorities and needs for each community, and further for prioritization of communities at risk for mitigation purposes.
