9-3-2: DEFINITIONS:
APPLICANT: An individual, corporation, partnership, sole trader, or agency applying for water service.
COMMERCIAL SERVICE: Provision of water to premises where the customer is engaged in trade, business or commerce.
CROSS-CONNECTION: Any physical connection between the piping system from the Jarbidge Water District Service and that of any other water supply.
CUSTOMER: An individual or agency of record receiving or scheduled to receive water service.
DATE OF PRESENTATION: The date upon which a bill or notice is mailed or delivered personally to the customer.
DISTRICT: The Jarbidge Water District.
DOMESTIC SERVICE: Provision of water for household residential purposes, including water for sprinkling lawns, gardens and shrubbery; watering livestock; washing vehicles and other similar and customary purposes.
FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE: Provision of water to premises for fire protection.
MAINS: Distribution pipelines located in streets, highways, public ways or private rights of way which are used to serve the general public.
PREMISES: The property or area, including improvements, to which water service is or will be provided.
RATE AND FEE SCHEDULES: The rates, fees, rentals, charges and regulations, as set forth by resolution of the Jarbidge Town Board.
RESERVED SERVICE: The provision of guaranteed availability of water service in the future. Charges for reserved service shall be the same as for domestic service.
SERVICE AREA: The area within the Jarbidge Town limits.
SERVICE CONNECTION: The pipe, valves and other facilities through which the utility conducts water from its distribution mains to the meter, or to the curb stop.
TEMPORARY SERVICE: Service for construction work, irrigation of vacant property and similar uses, that because of their nature will not be used steadily or permanently. (Ord. 2000-C, 4-20-2000, eff. 5-11-2000)
