(A) All bills for sewage charges as set forth herein shall be rendered monthly or as determined by the Director and shall become due and payable on or before the tenth day after the statement has been mailed and shall become delinquent thereafter. Service charges shall be payable in advance and shall begin to accrue the day on which service became available. To each monthly payment which has become delinquent, a basic penalty of fifteen percent (15%) of each month's charge for the first delinquent month shall be added. In addition to the basis penalty, a penalty of one and five- tenths percent (1.5%) per month for nonpayment of sewage charges shall be added. (Ord. 1981-C, 4-9-81, eff. 5-1-81)
(B) Any sewage charge which becomes delinquent shall immediately become a lien against the premises and if unpaid for ninety (90) days from the date on which it becomes due shall be certified by the Director to the Treasurer and Assessor of Elko County and in each such case such delinquent charges together with interest and penalties shall immediately upon such certification become a lien on the delinquent premises on a parity with and collectible at the same time and in the same manner as general County taxes. As an additional and concurrent method of enforcing the lien herein provided, the Town may order the utilities serving water to the delinquent premises to cut off the water service from the premises until such rates and charges are paid.
