7-2-10: DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED DOGS:
   (A)   The Animal Control Officer shall keep all animals for a period of five (5) days after impoundment. If at the expiration of five (5) days the animal has not been redeemed, the Animal Control Officer may make disposition of the animal in one of the following ways:
      1.   The Officer may turn a dog or cat over to the shelter where the dog or car has been impounded.
      2.   The Officer may have the animal destroyed in some humane manner or adopted out as provided in Section 7-2-11.
      3.   Any dog that appears to be suffering from rabies or affected with hydrophobia, mange or other infectious or dangerous disease shall not be released, but may be forthwith destroyed. (Ord. 1994-A, 3-3-94, eff. 3-17-94; amd. Ord. 2023-02, 2-15-2023)
