7-2-5: DOG LICENSE AND DOG OR CAT INOCULATION REQUIRED:
   (A)   Every owner of a dog licensed under the provisions of this Chapter shall provide the dog with a suitable collar or harness to be worn around the neck or forepart of the body of the dog, to which the license tag issued by the County Clerk and the required inoculation tag shall be securely affixed. The owner shall ensure that the collar and tag are worn by the dog at all times.
   (B)   Inoculation; Reinoculation: All dogs or cats, harbored or maintained within Elko County, four (4) months of age or older shall be inoculated by a veterinarian with an anti-rabies vaccine approved by and in the manner and at such intervals as may be prescribed by the state department of agriculture, from time to time; provided, that every dog or cat shall be reinoculated at not more than twenty four (24) month intervals thereafter if inoculated with modified live vaccine, or at not more than twelve (12) month intervals if inoculated with killed vaccine. It shall be unlawful for the owner or custodian of any dog or cat to keep, maintain or allow such dog or cat to remain Elko County, unless such dog or cat shall have been inoculated with anti-rabies vaccine by a veterinarian at the time and in the manner specified in this chapter.
