(A) The Public Defender will be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Elko County at a regularly held commission meeting. The Public Defender serves at the pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners.
(B) The Public Defender may appoint deputies necessary for the proper operation of the office, subject to prior budgetary approval by the Board of County Commissioners. All deputies shall be qualified attorneys licensed in the State of Nevada or qualified to practice law in the State of Nevada under the rules of the Supreme Court and the Nevada State bar.
