The Public Defender must be a qualified attorney licensed in the State of Nevada for a minimum of five (5) years, with a minimum of three (3) years practicing criminal defense. The Public Defender shall become a resident of Elko County upon appointment. Before entering upon the duties of their offices, the Public Defender and all deputies will take the constitutional oath of office. (Ord. 03-2019, 6-5-2019)
