(A) A license is required for all businesses within the unincorporated area of Elko County engaged in the commercial production of electricity from intermittent sources of electricity that produces ten (10) megawatts or more.
1. “Commercial Production” means the generation of electric power for sale from intermitting source, including solar and wind facilities within the unincorporated area of Elko County.
2. “Commercial production” does not include the use of transmission lines or other facilities used for the sole purpose of transmitting electricity or power generated by industries or individuals for their own use.
(B) Businesses in existence at the time this chapter is enacted shall apply for a business license no later than July 1, 2024. (Ord. 2023-10, 8-2-2023)
