1-13-5: PROCEDURE TO REPORT REPRISAL OR RETALIATORY CONDUCT:
   (A)   If an alleged violation of 1-13-4 occurs or any alleged reprisal or retaliatory action is taken against an Elko County officer or employee who discloses information concerning improper governmental action within 2 years after the information is disclosed, the officer or employee may file a written appeal with any of the following County Officers:
      1.   The Director of Human Resources for Elko County or designee;
      2.   The Elko County District Attorney or designee;
      3.   The Elko County Public Defender or designee;
      4.   The Elko County Sheriff's Office or designee.
   (B)   The written appeal must be accompanied by a statement that sets forth with particularity, as applicable:
      1.   The facts and circumstances relating to the alleged violation.
      2.   The facts and circumstances under which the disclosure of improper governmental action was made and the reprisal or retaliatory action that is alleged to have been taken against the County Officer or employee. (Ord. 05-2020, 7-15-2021)
