§ 32.19 PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR.
   (A)   The Council may appoint a Public Works Director, who shall serve during such periods as the Council may prescribe and who shall be paid such sum as the Council may determine from time to time.
   (B)   The Public Works Director shall maintain on file in his or her office copies of plans and specifications for street and sidewalk construction and for the construction of other public improvements, works and buildings not required to be filed elsewhere, as well as copies of all plans, plats, drawings and diagrams which, by law, this code or other ordinance, require his or her approval. He or she shall maintain a record of street grades and bench marks within the city and such other records of an engineering or topographical nature as may be of use to the city or to any of its officers or employees in the discharge of their official duties. Except as may be otherwise provided by law, this code or other ordinance, the Public Works Director shall supervise all engineering, construction and surveying work done by or for the city, shall perform such other duties as may be required of him or her by the Council and shall make a monthly report to the Council, advising it of the status of such projects as he or she is currently supervising.
