(A) There shall hereby be created the official position of Deputy City Treasurer, who shall be granted all the powers, duties and responsibilities of the acting City Treasurer, in the absence or inability of the City Treasurer to exercise said powers, duties and responsibilities. The position of Deputy City Treasurer shall be subject to all the provisions of the city code enumerating the terms, qualifications, duties, responsibilities and powers of the City Treasurer, with the sole exception that the Deputy City Treasurer shall not be required to be a qualified voter or resident of city to act on a temporary basis as City Treasurer.
(B) For the purposes of this section, TEMPORARY BASIS shall be defined as a period not to exceed six months.
