(A) The provisions of this chapter shall apply to new and existing conditions, and to the repair, use, occupancy, and maintenance of existing buildings or structures specified in the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code, and to other conditions hazardous to life or property in the opinion of the Fire Chief or their designee.
(B) Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed as applying to the transportation of any substance shipped in compliance with regulations prescribed by state and Federal law nor as applying to the military forces of the United States.
(C) If any portion of this chapter shall be determined to be invalid, unconstitutional, or so otherwise ineffective, the ruling shall not affect the remainder and other parts and clauses of this chapter, and the same shall remain in full force and effect.
