Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-4-405(b)(1), the County Department of Planning and Development shall assign a five-digit address number to each and every residential, commercial or industrial unit in the unincorporated area of the county, which shall be the official address of that unit after the Department notifies the owner or occupant of that unit of the address number.
