The franchisee may terminate its franchise under this chapter by providing written notice of its intent to terminate to franchising authority at any time which notice shall specify the effective date of the termination. Before or after the effective date of termination, the franchisee may seek to negotiate a franchise agreement with franchising authority separate and independent from this chapter in accordance with the applicable requirements of state and federal law.
