§ 30.019 PAYMENT OF DUES FOR MEMBERSHIPS IN PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS.
   Subject to the appropriation of necessary funds by the County Council and the specific approval of the County Commissioners for a particular membership request, the county and its various departments and offices, its elected and appointed officials and the members of their respective boards and councils, may obtain memberships in local, regional, state and national associations of a civic, educational or governmental nature which have as their purpose the improvement of governmental operations with the county, paying the dues of those memberships from public funds. Memberships permitting or promoting general county, office or department participation for multiple persons shall be pursued whenever practical to enhance the benefits arising from the memberships established.
