§ 94.064 DUTIES OF THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
   (A)   The Bureau shall have the power to adopt and promulgate rules and regulations for the safeguarding of life and property within the city from the hazards of fire and explosion, subject to prior approval of the City Council in the form of ordinances or otherwise. Such rules and regulations shall be in accordance with the standard provisions of the Fire Codes and standard safe practices as embodied in widely-recognized Standards and Codes of Good Practice for Fire Prevention and Fire Protection.
   (B)   The Bureau shall enforce the inspection codes set forth in the state statutes. Plans and permits for all new construction or renovation of all structures within the city, except for single-family dwellings, shall be filed with the Bureau and must be approved by the Bureau as to fire safety prior to commencement of construction.
   (C)   The Bureau shall file a written report of all its proceedings annually with the Mayor and the Board of Public Works and Safety.
