For the purpose of this subchapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ASSISTANTS. The Fire Chief and his or her appointments of personnel to follow Fire Marshal’s law under state statutes and 675 I.A.C. 22-2.
FIRE CODES. The Fire Codes and fire prevention acts adopted by the state legislature, including the Uniform Fire Codes and Standards, 1985 editions, the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code and the Uniform Building Code, 1985 edition, and supplements in their entirety published by the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of Building Officials, and other Codes referenced therein, along with all supplements and amendments thereto.
FIRE INVESTIGATION TEAM. Those officers who enforce the Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Building Code.
SHALL. As used in the I.F.P.C. or this subchapter, shall mean mandatory requirements.
SHOULD. As used in the Uniform Building Code or this subchapter shall mean recommendations which are advised, but not required.
STATE FIRE MARSHAL’S REPRE- SENTATIVE. The Assistant State Fire Marshal or the person sent from the Fire Marshal’s office to have control over the Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Building Code violations within the boundaries of the city.
