§ 36.231  COMMISSION AUTHORITY AND DEPARTMENT MEMBERSHIP.
   Pursuant to I.C. 36-8-3.5-11, the Commission may appoint, subject to the qualifications set forth in state statutes and rules for employment determined by the Commission, as many persons as necessary to serve in the Department. The Commission may establish a system for, and adopt rules governing, the selection and promotion of members of the Department. As needed, the Commission may also appoint other employees and promote employees as necessary to carry on the work of the Department. All persons so appointed by the Commission must be of good moral character and serve only during good behavior. Proceedings for the suspension, demotion or dismissal of any member of the Department shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by I.C. 36-8-3.5 et seq. and the Commission's rules governing such proceedings.
