§ 155.02 PURPOSE.
   The purpose of this chapter is as follows:
   (A)   To provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation and maintenance and use of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration and exhaust systems, incinerators and miscellaneous heat-producing appliances within the city;
   (B)   To create the Mechanical Examining Board and Board of Review and to prescribe their duties;
   (C)   To provide for the licensing by the Mechanical Examining Board of persons, firms and corporations undertaking the installation of mechanical equipment and making it unlawful to undertake the installation of mechanical equipment without a license except as otherwise provided;
   (D)   To create the office of Mechanical Inspector;
   (E)   To prescribe the duties and powers of the Inspector;
   (F)   To repeal all chapters and regulations inconsistent with any of the provisions of this chapter; and
   (G)   To provide penalties for the violations of provisions thereof.
