§ 50.02 DISCONNECTION FOR NON-PAYMENT; RESTRICTIONS AND CHARGES ON RECONNECTION.
   The following regulations shall apply to gas customers.
   (A)   After service has been discontinued for non-payment of bills, all past due bills and fees must be paid up to date before service will be restored.
   (B)   (1)   A disconnect service charge of $50 to $75, depending on service location shall be levied after discontinuance for nonpayment of bills.
      (2)   This service fee must be paid before service is continued.
   (C)   After services have been interrupted or discontinued for non-payment of bills to any person, the services will not be granted to other members of the family living under the same roof until all past-due bills have been paid in full.
   (D)   After services have been interrupted or discontinued for non-payment of bills, service, charges or fees and the gas meter has been sealed by the city, it shall be unlawful for any person to break any seal on any gas meter or to tamper or turn on the gas. In addition to any criminal conviction and penalties, the city may collect a service charge of $50 from the service account for the unlawful tampering or turning on of the gas.
   (E)   (1)   If gas service has been off for over one year, the city reserves the right to remove the meter.
      (2)   To reinstate service, the customer will be required to pay a new deposit and resolve all past due balances.
      (3)   Pressure testing and installation of the meter is the responsibility of the customer.
      (4)   Additionally, an inspection of the meter by the city’s Gas Department is required before service is turned back on.
