Upon receipt of notice from the Mayor of the city or from the Police Chief or Fire Chief, of a vacancy in an entry level position in either of the Police or Fire Departments, the Commission shall hold an examination of all applicants and notice of this fact shall be published at least once in a newspaper of local circulation not less than seven days, nor more than 21 days, before the examination in accordance with KRS 424.130(1)(d).
