§ 153.05  PROJECTING SIGNS.
   (A)   No sign projecting at right angles from the building wall shall extend over any sidewalk of the city nearer than 18 inches of the inside line of the curbing of the street, nor shall the sign be erected above the sidewalk lower than ten feet above the level of the sidewalk; provided, however, if such sign is erected at a height of at least 14 feet above the surface of the street, it shall be permissible for the sign to extend outward from the building to within six inches of the street side of the curb.
   (B)   Every projecting sign must be constructed and braced to withstand a horizontal wind pressure of 40 pounds for every square foot of surface exposed. Every projecting wall sign shall be securely attached to the building wall, by iron or metal anchors, bolts, supports, chains, stranded chains or steel rods, and all supports, braces, anchors, unless galvanized, shall be kept in repair and painted once every year.
