(A) The provisions of this subchapter and of the regulatory codes adopted by the provisions of this subchapter shall apply where applicable to the location, design, materials, equipment, construction, installation, erection, reconstruction, alteration, repair, maintenance, moving, demolition, removal, use or occupancy of any:
(1) Building or structure or any appurtenances connected or attached thereto;
(2) Plumbing system, including, but not limited to, house sewers, building drains, wastes and vent systems, hot and cold water supply systems or fixtures and appurtenances thereto;
(3) Electrical wiring systems, devices, appliances, equipment or fixtures and appurtenances thereto; and
(4) Heating or cooling equipment system or fixtures and appurtenances thereto.
(B) The adoption of this subchapter and the codes adopted by provision of this subchapter shall constitute a resolution within the meaning of G.S. § 143-138 and it is the intent of the city to adopt and enforce the North Carolina State Building Code and the other codes specifically set forth in this subchapter where such are applicable.
