§ 96.17  BURNING WITHIN CITY LIMITS.
   (A)   No person shall burn or cause to be burned any trash, refuse, shaving, paper, litter, natural vegetation or other material of any kind outside any house, on or in any street, sidewalk, alley, lot or yard within the city limits.
   (B)   A fire can be utilized for recreational purposes in a commercially purchased “fire pit” that has a screen over the fire. Only small kindling materials shall be burned in the fire pit.
   (C)   Any fire that is reported as a nuisance must be extinguished immediately. All current warnings regarding burn bans from the North Carolina Forestry Service or air quality must be adhered to at all times.
