§ 90.27  RABIES EXAMINATION.
   (A)   When a dog within the city bites any person or animal, the Health Officer shall have the authority to examine such dog for the purpose of determining whether he or she has rabies.
   (B)   Upon demand of the Health Officer, the person owning or having the custody of such dog shall deliver him or her to the Health Officer, who may impound such dog during such period as may be necessary to determine whether it has rabies.
   (C)   If the Health Officer finds that such dog has rabies, or any symptoms thereof, then the Health Officer shall cause such dog to be killed; otherwise, he or she shall be returned to the person owning him or her or who had the custody thereof at the time he or she was delivered up for examination.
