(A) Additional fees imposed when animal impounded. Whenever any animal is impounded, whether or not the owner collects the animal, the city may charge the owner an additional fee that the city shall establish by resolution as a reference to this chapter and other fees incurred to reimburse the Animal Shelter for care, vaccination, and neutering or spaying of the animal.
(B) Impoundment of dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs. The Animal Control Officer may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for seizure of a dangerous dog or a potentially dangerous dog according to the provisions of the Dangerous Dog Act, NMSA §§ 77-1A-1 through 77-1A-6. The owner shall be liable for any impoundment fees according to the provisions of this section.
