It is illegal for any person to knowingly cause, sponsor, train, arrange, equip, stage, attend, transport, hold, manage, conduct, or participate in any game, exhibition, contest, or fight between dogs, cocks, or any other animal for the purpose of injuring, killing, maiming, or destroying themselves or any other animals or for monetary gain or entertainment. Any person violating the provisions of NMSA § 30-18-9, as it pertains to dogs, is guilty of a fourth degree felony.
