(A) Customers wishing to discontinue the use of water service due to change in ownership shall give written notice thereof at the City Hall. Failure to do so shall render them liable for the payment of all bills until the notice has been given. The new owner will be assessed a connection fee.
(B) Customers wishing to discontinue the use of water service due to prolonged absence from the dwelling will be considered if all bills and outstanding fees are paid to date. A connection fee will be charged when the customer requests the city to reconnect the water meter. If there are outstanding bills, all bills must be brought up to date before reconnect is completed. In addition, a stand by fee will be charged at a prorated monthly charge added to the reconnect fee.
