105.06  PROHIBITIONS AGAINST CANDIDACY/CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
   (a)   Municipal Employees. Except for prohibitions against candidacy established by ordinance, and those for municipal police and fire department employees under civil service plans, there is no state prohibition against municipal employees becoming candidates or holding office.
   (b)   State and County Classified Employees.    Persons employed in "classified" positions (formerly called "civil service") with the state or county, including all employees of the Department of Highways, correctional officers, deputy sheriffs in covered counties, and other covered employees are prohibited from becoming a candidate for any office, whether partisan or non-partisan.
   (c)   Federal Hatch Act Employees.  Covered federal employees and certain covered state and local employees in programs funded by the federal governments are generally prohibited from seeking partisan political office, but may seek non-partisan office.
