§ 6.12 FEDERAL AND STATE AGENCIES.
Available support from federal and state agencies is normally offered automatically. Information and assistance in securing federal and state support may be obtained through the (State) Office of Disaster Services. Federal agencies have been assigned emergency preparedness functions by Executive Orders. (See Civil Preparedness Guide CPG 101, which is available in the County/Municipal Disaster Services Coordinator’s office.) State agencies and local government emergency responsibilities and support functions are described in the state’s emergency plan. This plan is available in the county/municipal disaster service coordinator’s office and the sheriff’s office. A state “disaster analysis team” may be sent to the affected area for the purpose of determining support required from state and federal agencies. The State Department of Public Safety has developed a mobile communications van which can be moved to the scene of an emergency to provide a communication link with the state government. The County Hazardous Materials Management Response Team may be called as required, and used if available.
