(A) (1) Street lights and alley lights in developed areas shall generally be installed in response to petitions submitted by residents of an area.
(2) The petition shall contain the following:
(a) The reason for requesting the light or lights;
(b) Specific location of the proposed light or lights;
(c) Designation of a contact person to whom correspondence can be addressed; and
(d) Signatures, addresses and phone numbers of residents supporting the installation of the light. All affected residents near the requested installation shall be asked to sign the petition.
(B) All petitioned installations will be field checked by the Department of Public Works to ensure suitability. The Public Works Department will recommend to the City Council whether the light or lights should be installed.
