The standard light will consist of a high pressure sodium luminaire installed on a wood pole with a luminaire mounting height of between 25 and 30 feet above the roadway depending upon the lumen rating of the light. The light shall be designed to produce efficient lighting at the lowest cost. Variations to the use of the standard will require the approval of the City Council. The standard light will be owned and maintained by the Eldridge Electric and Water Utility, Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company or Iowa Electric Light and Power Company depending on the location of the lights.
