(A) A developer may wish to install ornamental signs in a new subdivision. The design of ornamental street signs must be submitted to the City Council for approval. Once approval of the design has been granted, the developer shall pay all costs for the initial purchase and installation of the signs. Actual installation will be done by the city and billed to the developer. After initial installation, the signs will be maintained by the city. However, the city reserves the right to install standard street signs in place of ornamental signs.
(B) Ornamental street signs may be placed in previously developed areas in response to petitions submitted by residents of the area. Approval, payment and installation of these signs shall follow the same procedure used for new subdivisions.
