The businesses required to be licensed hereunder include, but are not limited to, any individual, partnership, association or corporation engaged in the sale of goods, services or adult entertainment, whether at retail or wholesale, done for the purpose of pecuniary profit or engaged in the maintenance of any premises for use as an office, garage, warehouse, manufacturing, assembly or processing facility for the use of the public or by employees of the business. Business licenses are not required for traditional neighborhood activities that are not publicly promoted and that are on a small scale, such as baking, ironing, sales of handicrafts, newspaper carriers, cosmetic products and the like; nor are business licenses required for sales or service businesses that do not store, warehouse or make deliveries within the corporate limits of the city.
