The following fees are determined for a building permit, based on the valuation. The building inspector shall have the right to verify or correct the estimated cost of any building, structure, alteration or addition:
15.01. BUILDING PERMIT FEES
RESIDENTIAL - The valuation of a residential building will be based on cost per square foot.
Basements, decks, sun rooms and garages - $12.00/square foot
Second Story, finished basements, 3 season rooms - $30.00/square foot
First Floor - $54.00/square foot
Accessory Buildings up to 120 square feet a permit is not required.
Accessory ‘buildings 120 square feet and over-the valuation and fee will be the same as a garage.
COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL.
The fees will be based on valuation of the project that will be obtained from the contractor's cost to complete the work.
PLAN CHECKING FEES.
The plan checking fee of 65% of the valuation fee of the building when completed could be applied if required by the building inspector.
In addition to the building permit fee a permit fee is required for all sub-contractors.

Other Inspections and Fees:
(1) Inspections outside normal business hours (minimum charge, two (2) hours),per hour - $36.00
(2) Reinspection fees assessed per hour - $36.00
(3) Inspections for which no fee is specifically indicated ( minimum charge, one-half hour), per hour - $36.00
(4) Additional plan review required by changes, additions or revisions to approve plans (minimum charge, one half hour), per hour - $36.00
(5) Work Commencing before permit issuance. Any person who commences work requiring a permit on a building, structure, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system before obtaining the necessary permits shall be subject to a fee in addition to the normal permit fee. Such fee shall be equal to twice the normal permit fee, but shall be no less than $25 or more than $100.
Unsatisfactory and/or re-inspection. If the work does not pass inspection, the permit holder shall be notified in writing or in person. The work shall be corrected and re-inspected. If extra inspection or additional trips for inspections are necessary due to inaccurate information or faulty construction thirty dollars ($30.00) shall be made and collected for each extra inspection or re-inspection.
(5) Work Commencing before permit issuance. Fees for registration of residential rental units shall be $20.00 every two years with each unit requiring separate registration regardless of being located in a structure with other units.
