After mixing, concrete shall be deposited rapidly in successive batches upon the prepared subgrade to the required depth and for the entire width of the pavement strip being constructed without the use of intermediate forms. Concrete shall be spread evenly over the subgrade to such a depth that will leave it slightly above the surface desired allowing enough surplus for compaction and a surplus in front of the screed tamper and strike-off template.
